Myself and ten other students designed, planned, and constructed a high-power model rocket. This rocket was a one pound-one mile rocket with its payload being a camera and temperature sensor located in the nose cone.Â
I hosted an event to inspire others to join the field of hobby rocketry. My aerospace engineering teacher and I provided kits to five students. With a little bit of assistance and encouragement, they were able to finish constructing their basic model rockets, and three were able to fly.Â
This was a week-long extracurricular summer project where four teams (Rocket, Rover, Set and Drone) came together to simulate a rover landing on Mars. My team and I (the Set Team) were in charge of designing and building the Olympus Mons super volcano located on Mars.
